We attended the Emergency Services Show at Hullavington Airfield, Wiltshire for the first time this year at the beginning of September. Whilst we have attended a number of shows aimed at the trade or fire service enthusiasts this was the first time we have attended one aimed at the general public as big as this one.
As well as selling yellow helmets, corporate wear and other merchandise we decided to demonstrate our commitment to “Saving lives worldwide” by making community safety a central feature of our stand. It was also a great way to engage with the general public especially the huge number of families attending.
A team of four volunteers, Steve Jordan, Ashram Tamam and Natasha Henson lead by Allan Henson, staffed our stand and had a very busy day.
Overall the event was a huge success, generating £766 for our funds and raising our profile significantly amongst the general public. The team are already discussing plans to make our attendance an even greater success next year!
Hopefully we will be attending more of this type of event in future so if you know of anything suitable do let Cathy know. It doesn’t have to be fire related. If you can help with an event in your area or, better still, are willing to act as our link with it she will be even more pleased to hear from you. If you do volunteer to help in any way we will make sure you get all the support and resources you need to make it a success.
