Allan Henson

After a short career in pharmaceutical research Allan joined the fire service in Hertfordshire and retired from the post of Deputy County Fire Officer for Northamptonshire in September 2002.

He first became involved in Operation Florian in January 2003. For several years he was the Board’s advisor on governance and has worked on the Soldiers to Saviours and Mostar reunification projects in Bosnia in Hercegovina as an assistant instructor, instructor and chief instructor. He was chief instructor on a programme to train instructors for the new training centre in Montenegro and, for a good number of years, has been deeply involved in the Macedonia project.

His previous experience includes trusteeship of the Fire Fighters Charity and Northamptonshire Victim support scheme, being a lead assessor for the Fire Services Examinations Board national written examinations and undertaking various roles in CFOA (CACFOA as it was then).
